Alexis Sanchez
signing for Manchester United has given Jose Mourinho and the club a
boost, but there is still a day left in the transfer window.
Private jets and the dreaded fax machine means deals are still possible – even up to the last minute.
Some journalists believe Mourinho has his eyes set on one more deal
before the window slams shut on Wednesday, and one player United have
been linked with over the years is Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo
Vidal.
Despite Sanchez providing United with some much-needed
extra firepower, there is one player who has already stated his
intentions to play alongside him, Mirror Football reports .
Vidal
also played alongside Sanchez for Chile, before retiring from
international duty, and is a good friend of the Red Devils forward, who
made his debut against Yeovil on Friday.
In 2017, when Sanchez's
future was up in the air at Arsenal, Vidal put his friendship to the
test by urging the Chilean to join him at Bayern Munich.
"We'll see if Alexis is coming. I do not know yet," Vidal told Bild – but a move to Germany never materialised for Sanchez.
"I
know him very well. He is a spectacular player. And with him, we would
surely improve. "We already have a lot of top-level players. We are the
best club in the world."
World-class midfielder Vidal's future
looks to be on the rocks a bit following the signing of Leon Goretzka.
He might finally get his wish and have the chance to play alongside
Sanchez if United come calling.
Some Manchester United fans are now hoping that their new forward can
do what Paul Pogba did with Romelu Lukaku and entice him to Old
Trafford.
But with the transfer window set to slam shut on
Wednesday, Sanchez is under pressure to spring into action as 'Agent
Alexis' quickly if United are to get any sort of deal over the line -
but that all seems very unlikely!
