Pat Nevin predicts 26-year-old striker won’t start ahead of new Arsenal signing

The Gunners signed Lacazette in what was then a club record £52m deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window.
Lacazette has struggled to recreate his prolific form in the French league since his move to
the Premier League in 2017.
Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United in the January transfer window left a goal void in Arsene Wenger’s team.
Arsenal signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a £56m deal from Borussia Dortmund on deadline day to bolster his attack.
The Gabon international’s transfer fee eclipsed the amount that Arsenal paid for Lacazette to make Aubameyang their new record signing.
The African forward scored 141 goals in 213 games at Dortmund, finishing as the Bundesliga’s top goal-scorer last season.
Former Chelsea forward Nevin claimed that Aubameyang will be the number one striker at Arsenal.
“We can see Lacazette can play. Is he a Thierry Henry? Is he a Giroud? I am not sure what he is,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“He doesn’t seem to be a focal point. He seems to be pretty good at everything as opposed to be absolutely brilliant at anything.
“You suspect Aubameyang will be number one and Lacazette will have to find a way to play off him.”
Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and well behind the top four in pursuit of a Champions League spot.
The Gunners were 5-1 winners against Everton on Saturday evening as Aubameyang opened his account at The Emirates.
