Virgil van Dijk Scares Liverpool FC ahead of Real Madrid clash

The Reds are in the Champions League showpiece thanks to a dramatic 7-6 aggregate win against Serie A giants AS Roma in the last four.
Liverpool FC have also beaten Portuguese giants FC Porto and Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League knockout stage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will take on the current holders after Real Madrid were 4-1 winners against Serie A giants Juventus at the Millennium Stadium last term.
Los Blancos have won the competition two times in the past three seasons under Zinedine Zidane to underline their dominance in the Champions League.
Speaking to Liverpool FC’s website about the prospect of taking on the 13-time European Cup winners, Van Dijk was bullish about the Reds’ chances.
“They’ve won three of the last four,” Van Dijk said.
“They have experience, they have so much quality.
“We need to look at them, but the main thing is to look at ourselves. I’ve said it before, we’re not here for no reason – we deserve to be here.
“We need to show that as well on the pitch: be brave, do our thing, do what we normally do. It’s a one-off game, but we need to just be confident and show what we’re good at.
“Only the Roma away game we’ve lost in the Champions League, so that says a lot. The way we play, if everyone is 100 per cent and the tactics are spot-on, then we can make it difficult for any team.
“They are experienced in these kind of games, they have played these type of games in the last few years. For us, it’s a little bit new, but that doesn’t matter really. We just need to play our game and be ready for anything that’s possible. I think we will be.”
Liverpool haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 when the Reds beat AC Milan on penalties after coming from 3-0 down in Istanbul.
The Merseyside outfit were 1-0 winners against Real Madrid in their only previous meeting in the European Cup final in 1984.
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place ahead of Chelsea FC in the Premier League table this season.
