Addis Ababa, Mar 5 (Prensa Latina) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss, during his upcoming visit to Ethiopia, issues related to bilateral relations and the creation of a nuclear science center in this country, local media reported.
'Our plans include the creation of the Ethiopian center for nuclear sciences and technologies, based on the Russian research reactor,' said Lavrov, who was quoted by local media.
The Russian foreign minister pointed out that during the talks with his Ethiopian counterpart, Workneh Gebeyehu, he plans to 'address in detail the ways to further develop bilateral cooperation, focusing on its commercial, economic and investment components, and the implementation of joint projects, including energy and nuclear energy.'
'Among the most promising issues is Russia's support for the organization of the Ethiopian scientific foundation for fundamental and applied research', said the minister.
Lavrov also expects that the visit will help strengthen the coordination of foreign policy between the two countries.
Lavrov noted that he hoped that his trip 'will be a useful contribution in the development of the relations of the nations' and described as symbolic the fact that the visit will take place in the context of 120 years of diplomatic ties.
Lavrov will visit Africa from March 5 to 9, as his tour will also include Angola, Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
