Eden Hazard‘s goal against Brighton was the Chelsea star’s 100th career league goal.
The Belgian fired Chelsea in front against Brighton by finishing off an impressive move with a powerful shot.
Hazard’s strike was his tenth of the season in all competitions and his 64th Premier League goal in a Chelsea shirt.
Combine that with the 36 goals the 27-year-old scored for his former
club, Lille, in Ligue 1 and Hazard’s league goal scoring tally is now
officially in triple figures.
It is a superb milestone for a player who is the beating heart of Chelsea’s midfield and a dangerous outlet in attack.
Hazard’s goal scoring efforts in the top flight in his time at Chelsea has helped his side claim two titles.
On top of the 100 league goals Hazard has scored, the attacker has
also managed to provide 85 assists for his team-mates at Lille and
Chelsea in the league.
Hazard was also heavily involved in Chelsea’s second goal which saw
some brilliant and intricate link-up play between him, Michy Batshuayi
and Willian.
Even though Batshuayi will get the assist for that goal, it was
Hazard’s back-heel that allowed the striker to find Willian with another
flick.
Hazard is on 81 goals for Chelsea in all competitions and the Blues will be hoping he continues to find the back of the net.
Chelsea travel to the Emirates on Wednesday night for the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.
The tie against Arsenal is finely balanced after a goalless draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge
